The title.  United States Marine cannot be inherited, nor can it ever be purchased.  No one alive can buy it for any price.  It is impossible to rent and it cannot be lent.  We have earned it with our blood, sweat, and lives.  We own it forever, the title, United States Marine. To honor our service to Whiskey Battery 1-12 in Vietnam and to remember our departed.  As Marines we live our lives honoring their sacrifice in thought, deed, and in the way we conduct ourselves both publicly and privately. To be proud of our service during a difficult period in our country's history.   We chose to serve our country -- not to debate the merits of the war. To recognize that the men of Whiskey Battery are honorable warriors.  We love our country, warts and all.  We want to create and sustain an environment where there is room for differences of opinions. To assist those who are trying to keep Whiskey 1-12 alive and meaningful.  To Gather in fellowship at reunions to honor our service.  To Remember the fallen and help those among us who may have fallen on difficult times. To encourage our battery brothers to attend reunions and become involved.  To reach out to all our brothers.  To love and give back to our country.
